The Setup Process
Setting up a Telemarketing Project Step by Step
With all telemarketing projects, an efficient and effective setup process is key to achieving the most successful results. This process doesn’t just include the understanding of the product or service, it goes far deeper than that. Big Green will understand your company history, your business culture and your entire industry. We’ll study your brand and how you deliver it to the market. Big Green will examine the impact of your product or service on your customers and the motivation to buy. By following this preparation process, Big Green becomes an extension of your business rather than simply a call centre.

Initial Telemarketing Brief
A Big Green Telemarketing Consultant will talk with you about your telemarketing project. We can come to you, you can come to us or we can talk over the phone, whatever is easiest for you. The objective is to learn exactly what you are trying to achieve. If it is appointments and leads, we’ll talk about criteria, qualification, target customers, regions, volume, selling points and most importantly, we’ll be able to give you an idea of the results you are likely to achieve. Have a look through our Telemarketing Questionnaire for a better idea of the information you can give us to make the project a success.
Telemarketing Project Plan
You’ll receive a full Telemarketing Project Plan which maps out the entire project from start to finish and includes details of the expected outcome, pricing, the setup process and a detailed forecast of the telemarketing project itself. Have a look at an example of a Big Green Telemarketing Project Plan. The project plan will help you understand the inner workings of the telemarketing project and we’ll be able to forecast your results together.
Project Plan Approval
Have a look through the Telemarketing Project Plan and add your input. Once you are comfortable with the structure, simply send us your approval. This is not a commitment, it is simply tells Big Green that we are all on the same page. The most effective telemarketing project comes from a strong understanding between our companies and this is the start of that understanding.
Terms and Conditions Agreed
Protect your data, minimise your risk and be safe in the knowledge that Big Green will deliver you exactly what you need…in writing.
Every project Big Green work on is created as a bespoke campaign. Yes, we are likely to have a high level of experience already but you are not the same as all the other companies and Big Green treats you as such. Terms and conditions are created specifically for you and to help your business. Have a look through our standard terms and conditions. We are flexible on these terms and will work with you to create the right understanding.
Invoice Procedures Complete
Credit is available with Big Green Telemarketing and it’s important to get these simple accounting procedures in place early. During your setup process, we like to make a note of our contact in your accounts team so communication is direct and efficient.
Credit will be offered once three payments have been completed with us on time. Big Green will assess your business’s credit rating and credit facilities will be provided accordingly. If you are approved for credit, the terms are simple. Invoices are raised in advance with 30 day terms. Once the accounting processes are complete, Big Green will allocate its resources to fully prepare and launch your telemarketing project.
Big Green Research
This is all about building a strong knowledge of your company
Big Green will study your business, it’s history, culture and brand along with your website, press releases and news. We’ll also research your case studies, sales literature, brochures and your marketing material.
Presentation to Management
Once the groundwork has been done and Big Green has researched your company from our end, the telemarketers allocated to your campaign will prepare a presentation to deliver to Management. This presentation is to outline the company they are representing, the project specifics and the processes.
Each Big Green Telemarketer adopts a method of “learning as if you are going to teach”. Once Big Green Management feels confident that the telemarketer is competent with the project, it will be signed off internally and the telemarketer is ready to take further training from you.
Full Training
The telemarketers have now built a good understanding of your business. This means you don’t have to go over the basics with them, you can talk our telemarketers through more advanced information. Training can either be over the phone, at our offices or at yours. Alternatively, if you are confident that we don’t need further training, we will skip it.
This is an opportunity for you to question the telemarketer’s knowledge and provide the right information where necessary. Training can be as in-depth as you feel appropriate. We’ll always tell you if we need more information.
Scripts Written
Any call centre or telemarketing company which doesn’t use a script is crazy! Big Green certainly do use scripts but the important thing is, we use them properly. We use them as guides rather than the boring and tedious word for word telemarketers.
Companies that don’t use scripts are pretty much making it up on the spot. Those people are representing your business!
The key is to sound non-scripted. The introduction is uniformed, the qualification is a discussion. This is a consultative approach to telemarketing.
We’ll write a draft script and send it to you. Give your feedback and we’ll work towards getting the perfect script. Once we are all comfortable with it, we’ll approve it.
Data Prepared
We’ll start preparing the data into the regions you are targeting, the sectors, the areas and the volume required. When you provide data for us to use, we’ll cleanse it and structure it to make it more efficient for the cause.
The data is then allocated to the telemarketers. All data is fully managed at Big Green and well looked after. We will never pass your data to a third party.
Day 1 Launch Call
On the first day of the project, we will contact your sales teams (or the right contact at your company) to briefly run over the points of the project. While you have the opportunity throughout the project to make adjustments, this is a good opportunity to make sure we are still all on the same page. We are all working towards the same goal here so communication is vital.
